Sabrina Shewfelt's Governor's Report 2001

Happy Holidays to my fellow WCR members.
I am Winding down the rest of the year with joy and sadness. Many installations holiday events, and Retreats on my plate. I am blessed to have the opportunity to have learned so much about my sister chapters: working with the Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Francisco and San Mateo chapters a complete privilege. The chapter presidents are the hardest working group the I have ever seen one-on-one. Hats off to the LCP'S.
As your governor this year, I facilitated retreats for San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Monterey and next week will assist the Contra Costa Chapter. My favorite location for a 2 day WCR retreat was Lake Tahoe, hosted by Jan Miners of the Santa Clara chapter. Linda Ellen Anderson & I facilitated the 12 members that attended. We were all able to breath fresh air, get a lot of work organized for 2002, and share professional and personal time together. Not to mention a night of gambling.
Other chapters may also want to think outside of the box and host their retreats in different spots out of your area.
As for my home chapter. Santa Cruz's Sara Lay hosted her retreat at the Costanoia camp off Hwy 1 and the beautiful pacific ocean. Plans for next year will include a overnight camping trip and mid year retreat.
One of the most rewarding & memorable times I had this year was working with the founder of the Monterey chapter Susan Clark. Just the thought of her smile and WCR enthusiasm makes me know what WCR is all about. Her commitment from her soul to see her chapter grow and succeed is to be admired. She is the rose among daisies that stand out in a crowd. Watch out California, she could be the next largest chapter in the shortest amount of time.
As I conclude my year, I am committed to WCR to continue my Santa Cruz Spring retreat for the LCP's and their officers. The date will be in April with details of the event to follow.

I appreciate all your support and wish everyone a Healthy New Year.
Love, Sabrina Shewfelt
