GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Breakfast with guest speaker, 2004 CAR President, Ann Pettijohn - “It’s A Matter of Ethics.”

Call to order at 8:30 am by President, Mary Jane Cambria.

Pledge of Allegiance: Lani McKennon, Verdugo Hills Chapter

Inspiration:  Carmen Richards, El Dorado Chapter

Mary Jane Cambria introduced the head table. Carol Luckenbach, President Elect; Jean Tietgen, Secretary; Bobbie Nelson, Treasurer. Mike Riley, Parliamentarian.

Mary Jane introduced the District Vice Presidents – Denise Aquila, Cynthia Davis, Sandy Kaplan, Rana Linka, Carol Meyers, James Nevans, Edie Newmeyer, Mike Riley, Barbara Safran.

Mary Jane introduced the Governors. Jeri Jorgensen, Linda Amodeo, Judy Myers.

Local Chapter Presidents stood and introduced themselves.

Mary Jane introduced the Past State Presidents in attendance. Sharon Telles, Betty Taisch, Linda Hoffstater, Emily Link, Nita Lyons and Judy Myers.

Mary Jane acknowledged our Platinum Sponsors and encouraged our members to use their services.

Carol Luckenbach made a membership report. Carol reported that more than 70 membership leads have been passed along to the membership committee. She announced that  Beth Anderson and the membership committee have been doing a wonderful job and have a system in place to process the incoming leads and to communicate with the Local Chapter Presidents, Governors, President and President Elect.

District Vice President Reports:   Carol introduced the DVP’s and reviewed their charge, which is to mentor the Local Chapters.  They are to assist Local Chapters in structuring their chapters according to the National guidelines and communicating with the President and President Elect. They are to prepare a monthly report which is due the 15th of the month. Thus, informing the State as to any assistance Local Chapters needs.

Governor Reports:   Carol introduced the Governors and reviewed their charge, which is to identify and help charter new chapters and to work with members at large.  The Governors have been working as a team and are well on their way to their goal for 2004.  The Governors chartered the following new chapters:  Lakeport, Bakersfield,  Citrus Valley and West Valley (chartered by member Dee Lee)  Governors prepare a monthly report and communicate with the President and President Elect.

Officer Round Tables:  Betty Taisch, Local Chapter Presidents; Carol Luckenbach, President Elects; Jean Tietgen, Secretaries and Vice Presidents of Membership; and Bobbie Nelson, Treasurers.

Meeting reconvened with a presentation by Saul Klein, Internet Crusade, eProNAR: “Internet Marketing Strategies”

CAR Team update by Colleen Badagliacco, 2004 Treasurer and CAR EO Joel Singer

 

President, Mary Jane Cambria reported the Nominating Committee submitted the following nominations for the 2005 Slate of Officers:
 
District Vice Presidents: Sherry Wilson, Christine Thoulion, Denise Smith, Jamie Saltman, Barbara Safran, Denise Ridley, Diane Dee Lee, Sandy Kaplan and Cynthia Davis.

Treasurer: Cathy Scharetg and James Nevans

Secretary: Bobbie Nelson

President Elect:Denise Aguila.

Nominated from the floor for President-Elect: Jean Tietgen


Sharon Telles announced and thanked the members of the Nominating Committee

Mary Jane recognized Wells Fargo as our platinum sponsor.

Sharon Telles made an announcement regarding the Regional Conference.

Carol Luckenbach announced the Leadership Retreat dates will be at 5 pm on October 21, 2004 for Line Officers and 5 pm on October 22, 2004  through Oct 23, 2004 for DVP and Governor training.
 

Meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
